Life On Music is seeking a highly motivated and skilled contract music therapist to provide therapeutic services for children with special needs and seniors in memory care. The ideal candidate should have experience in working with children with various disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. The music therapist will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized music therapy sessions for each child, helping them to achieve their therapeutic goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop individualized music therapy treatment plans based on the needs and abilities of each child.

Provide music therapy sessions that include improvisation, singing, songwriting, and instrument playing to help children achieve their therapeutic goals.

Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to children.

Maintain accurate records of treatment progress and communicate progress to parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals as needed.

Attend meetings and conferences related to music therapy and special education to stay updated on best practices.

Ensure the safety of the children during therapy sessions.
Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy or a related field.

Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) or MT-BC eligible.

Experience in developing and implementing individualized music therapy treatment plans.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Afternoon (after school) availability is a must. Saturday morning availability is preferred.
Benefits:

$50-$64 per contact hour, depending on experience.
