Piano Practice Session

Description:

This group is for adults of any age or ability who enjoy musical expression within community. Each week, groups will explore and engage in various vocal warm ups and learn music from different eras and genres. Folks who would prefer not to sing will be taught to accompany the group on a chosen instrument.

Goal Areas:

  1. Develop foundational vocal and musical skills through learning and performing music from diverse eras and genres.

  2. Foster positive social connections and a sense of belonging through collaborative music-making.

  3. Actively engage in music-making through singing and/or instrumental accompaniment to increase opportunities for creative expression and meaningful participation.

Description:

This group is for anyone 17+ interested in learning practical music-based tools for relaxation to combat symptoms of anxiety and stress. Meetings will consist of developing and practicing mindfulness tools as well as journaling prompts participants can take home to use as reflection throughout the week.

Goal Areas:

  1. Develop and practice music-based relaxation strategies to reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety.

    Foster positive social connections and a sense of belonging through collaborative music-making.

  2. Increase awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical responses through music-centered mindfulness practices.

  3. Strengthen self-awareness and wellness habits through guided reflection and journaling.

Sibling & Friend Policy

Life On Music music classes are designed for the whole family! Please register everyone who plans to attend regularly. Un-registered siblings or friends are welcome on school holidays or times additional care cannot be arranged. Please make sure to introduce them to your music therapist so they can be included in group activities.

Cancelation Policy

You may cancel your enrollment for a full refund up to 30 days before the group start date. You may cancel your enrollment for a 50% refund up to 14 days before the group start date. Within 14 days of the group start date, enrollment is non-refundable.

If a class cancelation is required due to inclement weather or therapists illness, we will notify enrolled participants via the email provided. Every effort will be made to reschedule the missed session and is subject to therapist availability. We are unable to refund or reschedule missed sessions due to participant illness or travel plans.

Payment & Insurance Policy

Invoices are sent via email and payments can be through your bank or credit card using the secure payment system Wave. Checks made out to Life On Music are also accepted. To hold your spot, payment is due at the time of registration.

We are currently considered out-of-network providers with all insurance companies. We will happily provide you with a “superbill” to be used for reimbursement. The amount of coverage varies by insurance plan and reimbursement for services cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us with additional questions or help submitting directly to your insurance company. 

Life On Music believes in providing equitable access to music classes and individual therapy. If you are concerned about out-of-pocket costs, please inquire about scholarship opportunities.
